Private Jet Charter from Switzerland
Geneva, Zurich, Sion, Lugano, St. Moritz and common routes from Switzerland.
Switzerland is one of the most active private aviation markets in Europe per capita. This is a short reference for anyone chartering from Switzerland — the main airports, what to know about each, and typical industry flight times as a rough guide.
Geneva (GVA / LSGG)
Europe's busiest business aviation airport. Slot constraints around Davos (mid-January), major Geneva events and the summer Mediterranean rotation are predictable — worth planning around. Handling is split across several FBOs, each with different waiting-room standards and curbside access.
Zurich (ZRH / LSZH)
Commercial-first airport, with private movements handled out of the General Aviation Center. Slots are less constrained than Geneva but handling can be slower at peak times. For clients based in the Zurich–Zug corridor it is often the more practical option on weekdays.
Sion, Bern, Lugano, St. Moritz
Sion (SIR) and Lugano (LUG) are the practical winter and summer alternatives. St. Moritz (SMV) is short and at altitude, so it only takes short-field-capable aircraft such as the PC-12, Pilatus PC-24 and Falcon 8X. The airport often determines the aircraft, not the other way around.
Typical routes and realistic flight times
As a rough guide, typical flight times include: Geneva–London (around 1h 25, light or midsize jet). Geneva–Nice (around 50 minutes). Geneva–Olbia (around 1h 20, summer Sardinia rotation). Geneva–Ibiza (around 1h 45). Zurich–Dubai (around 6 hours, super-midsize or long range). Geneva–New York (around 8h 30 westbound, long or ultra long range depending on payload). Switzerland–Maldives in winter (around 9–10 hours direct on ultra long range, otherwise one tech stop). Headwinds, payload and routing can shift any of these by 20–40 minutes.
