McLaren F1
Gordon Murray's three-seat masterpiece. The benchmark.

Market significance
The F1 sits at the very top of the collector market. Provenance and history are everything; LM and GT variants are essentially unobtainable outside private sale.
Where it fits
More than three decades on, the McLaren F1 still sets the standard for the no-compromise road car. Its design choices — central seat, naturally aspirated V12, carbon monocoque — have been imitated but never matched in the same combination.
